Who am I?

My name is Frances Ausley and I am from Jacksonville, FL.  I am pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Florida. Go Gators! Ever since high school, I have known that I wanted to be a nurse from the influence my grandfather had on me and my extensive volunteering experience.  My ultimate career goal is to be a pediatric flight nurse, and until then I'll be working as an ocean lifeguard and studying.  In my free time, I enjoy dancing, which is an activity that I have participated in since I was a toddler. It has served as an amazing stress-reliever and creative outlet for me throughout my life.

In Spring 2018, I was fortunate enough to participate in a UF College of Nursing Study Abroad Program to Grenada over spring break from March 2-11.  I was so excited to participate in this program because getting the chance to combine traveling and nursing care was an ultimate goal of mine. I also love doing and trying new things, so this trip was full of adventures. This global portfolio highlights my experiences and lessons that I learned during this trip and my nursing experience thus far.

A quote that has inspired my nursing career is "It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving", stated by Mother Teresa the ultimate carer.  This saying reminds me to back up all of my actions with compassion.
